GREENWOOD, Ind. – After a delay because of the COVID-19 crisis, Greenwood is opening Freedom Springs Aquatic Center this Monday, June 15.
“City leadership has worked tirelessly to finalize the operational plans for this public amenity. Our main priority has been the health and safety of all visitors,” said Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers. “We want everyone to feel confident and safe when visiting the facility.” Greenwood has implemented enhanced disinfecting protocols, which include regular cleaning of high-traffic areas and surfaces.
The city has mandated several new rules for entering Freedom Springs. The maximum capacity will be 700 people, the facility will only be open to season pass holders through July 4, everyone entering the facility must be screened, six feet social distancing will be enforced, sunscreen stations have been converted to sanitizing stations, and lounge chairs have been placed to meet the six feet distance requirement. In addition, certain gates have been changed to exits only, concession seating has changed, lockers and cabanas will remain closed to ensure the public’s health and safety.
