NORTH VERNON, Ind. – A Jennings County man, who law enforcement had been searching for since Monday, was located Wednesday afternoon at a Columbus hotel. Damion Patton, 22, of North Vernon, was taken into custody without incident.
On Monday, Patton was involved in a situation in Jennings County where he allegedly ran from authorities and led deputies on a foot pursuit. An area-wide dispatch was sent out on the possible vehicle Patton could be in. That vehicle was eventually found at the Columbus hotel.
Detectives with the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office, the Indiana State Police All Crimes Policing Unit, the Columbus Police Department, and the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office responded and the suspect was arrested as he exited his hotel room and entered the vehicle.
Patton was taken to the Jackson County Jail where he is being held on a Jackson County warrant. He also has a current Jennings County warrant and could face additional charges for the recent pursuits.
