COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Police Department (CPD) arrested a Kentucky man after he reportedly threatened a department store employee with a knife on Wednesday afternoon. Officers were dispatched to the eastside Walmart, 735 Whitefield Dr., at around 2:20 p.m.
CPD spoke with a store security employee who advised that he had been watching a possible shoplifter, later identified as Paul Horn, 45, of Louisville. The employee told officers that he suspected the man of attempting to steal a computer hard drive and saw him enter a store bathroom. The employee checked the restroom and said the suspect threatened him with a knife.
After reviewing security video, Horn was arrested. Police allegedly recovered an open-bladed knife from his pockets. Horn was taken to Bartholomew County Jail and booked for intimidation with a deadly weapon and an out of county warrant.
