COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Police Department (CPD) last week began the process of issuing new and improved Axon Body 3 cameras to its officers for when they are on duty. CPD has used some version of body-worn cameras since 2015.
The Axon Body 3 is the third generation of body cams that local police officers have worn on patrol.
The new, advanced camera that each CPD officer will eventually be wearing produces enhanced, high-definition video that can be used as evidence in court and is also vital in maintaining transparency with the public.
