COLUMBUS, Ind. – A Clark County man led state troopers on a Tuesday night car chase through two counties that ended in a crash in Columbus, where the driver was arrested. Just before midnight, the Indiana State Police (ISP) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on northbound I-65 near the 55-mile marker in Jackson County.
After the car pulled over and the trooper was approaching the vehicle, the driver, Andrew Moore, 18, of Clarksville accelerated and continued north on I-65. ISP pursued into Bartholomew County where the car left I-65 at Exit 68 and then collided with another vehicle on State Road 46.
After the wreck, the suspect fled on foot but was soon apprehended. Moore was arrested, taken to Jackson County Jail, and charged with resisting law enforcement in a vehicle and reckless driving.
