SOUTH-CENTRAL, Ind. – Sheriffs in Bartholomew, Johnson, and Brown Counties were advising drivers on Sunday to be aware of high water over some roadways.
Due to a large amount of rainfall recently and the ground already being saturated because of the big snowfall, water was covering several roads and some were closed.
If there is a “High Water” or “Road Closed” sign, or if you just see water covering the roadway, stop and turn around. Water rescues are becoming much too prevalent in recent years. If you disobey a road closure sign, you can and will be fined.
Authorities say flooding is possible in many areas. For your safety, do not risk goinginto high water.
