NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) was notified on Friday afternoon that the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was in pursuit of a motorcycle on Highway 3 near the Jennings/Jefferson County line. The motorcycle had reportedly reached speeds exceeding 100 mph while fleeing law enforcement.
Jennings County deputies responded as the high-speed chase turned westbound onto County Road 500S from Highway 3, and then onto several Jennings County roads before ending on County Road 275S. The motorcyclist lost control of his bike, drove into a ditch, and came to a stop.
Jeffery E. Linville, 58, of North Vernon, was arrested and taken to the Jefferson County Jail.
