COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) was dispatched to the 16000 block of East County Road 200S on Tuesday, at around 9:50 a.m., in reference to a possible motorcycle crash. Witnesses told authorities that the driver then walked down the roadway prior to his losing consciousness.
On arrival, deputies determined that the motorcycle had in fact not been involved in a crash, but the driver appeared to have been overdosing on an unknown substance. Deputies administered Narcan to revive the man, identified as Brandon Brent Jacobs, 20, of Nashville, Indiana, who supposedly admitted to using fentanyl. During a search, he was allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine.
BCSO said that Jacobs was taken to Columbus Regional Health for clearance before being transported to Bartholomew County Jail and charged with possession of meth.
