COLUMBUS, Ind. – Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC) Superintendent Dr. Jim Roberts has released the COVID-19 reopening plan for the 2021-2022 school year. The draft will be submitted for approval to the BCSC board at its next meeting on Monday, July 19.
Highlights of the plan include masks being optional for students and BCSC staff, except on school buses where federal law mandates them until September 13, at which time face coverings become optional, and visitors/parents being allowed in buildings but not to join kids for lunch.
Roberts said, “As we edge closer to our first scheduled student day and continue to digest COVID-19 related information provided to us by the Indiana State Department of Health, the Centers for Disease Control, Columbus Regional Health, and the Bartholomew County Health Department, we again ask parents for input on the plan. We have already had a lot of public commentary on the topic. It is our hope that you will review the plan available here, and provide us with your feedback here.”
