HOPE, Ind. – The Hope Volunteer Fire Department (HVFD) was dispatched to a possible structure fire in the area of the Dollar General Store on State Road 9, on Thursday, just before 5 a.m. Upon arrival, it was determined that the fire was coming from the electrical substation on County Road 600N, just west of S.R. 9.
The electric company responded and disconnected power to the substation. Once the blaze was extinguished and repairs were made, power was restored by mid-morning.
HVFD says there were no injuries. The Hartsville and Community Volunteer Fire Department assisted.
