COLUMBUS, Ind. – Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC) Superintendent Dr. Jim Roberts welcomed the 2021-2022 school year on Thursday afternoon with a message delivered on the BCSC Facebook page. Classes begin Friday, August 6.
In his presentation, he said the school corporation has been working hard on its next five-year plan, comparing it to President John F. Kennedy’s 1962 moonshot declaration and rhetorically asked, “How do we stretch ourselves?”
In regards to COVID-19, he stated, “We learned a lot over the last 17 months about ourselves…our agility, our resilience, our ability to get results regardless of the circumstances. Last year was “Survival” Mode.”
He then possibly invented a new word by proclaiming the upcoming school year as being in “THRIVAL” Mode. Dr. Roberts challenged the school system to thrive by using its best skills and energies to accomplish everything necessary to help students. He ended by stating, “THRIVAL Mode, it’s on.”
