COLUMBUS, Ind. – A Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) deputy initiated a traffic stop in the 13000 block of North U.S. 31 early Thursday morning. During the pullover at about 2:15 a.m., K-9 Szabi supposedly alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle.
The driver, Darrin Bryant, 35, Columbus, exited and allegedly told the BCSO officer that illegal narcotics and a syringe were inside the car.
The suspect was arrested taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a syringe, possession of paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance.
“We are not going to let up on our pursuit to stop illegal drugs from hitting our streets and neighborhoods,” said Sheriff Matt Myers. “Those arrested will be held accountable.”
