NORTH VERNON, Ind. – Deputies with the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office were conducting a routine patrol in the area of County Road 200N and Highway 50E, on Monday at around 1:30 a.m., when they observed a female motorist with a flat tire. They reportedly stopped in an attempt to help.
While speaking to the driver of the car, Sonia Slone, 35, of Whitesburg, Kentucky, and passengers Aqueilah Hardesty, 36, of Commiskey, and Devon McFall, 28, of North Vernon, the officers became suspicious of criminal activity.
During a probable cause search of the car, deputies allegedly found methamphetamine, syringes, marijuana, and other drug paraphernalia.
The Indiana Department of Child Services was also contacted to assist with the placement of an 11-month-old baby who was in the car. It was later learned that the driver had an outstanding Jennings County theft warrant. All three individuals were arrested and transported to the Jennings County Jail.
McFall and Hardesty were booked for possession of meth, possession of a syringe, neglect of a dependent child, and possession of marijuana.
Slone was charged with possession of marijuana and the warrant for theft.
