COLUMBUS, Ind. – Indiana State Police (ISP) detectives arrested a Columbus man on drug-related charges on Saturday after a nearly 13-month investigation into the death of a second Columbus man.
In August 2020, ISP began the investigation into the death of Jeremy Ronsheim, who was found deceased at the Prairie Stream residence of Stephen A. Moore, 29, of Columbus. During the inquiry, officers allegedly located a suspected controlled substance along with items of drug paraphernalia at Moore’s residence.
Additional evidence indicated that the suspect supposedly tried to discard evidence in the home prior to first responders arriving. Laboratory tests later determined that the controlled substance was fentanyl.
When the investigation concluded, the case was presented to the Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office. Last Wednesday, a warrant was issued for Moore on charges of possession of a narcotic drug, maintaining a common nuisance, obstruction of justice, and possession of paraphernalia.
On Saturday, September 25, the arrest warrant was served on the suspect, who was already incarcerated at Bartholomew County Jail on unrelated charges.
