FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Johnson County Recycling District is not offering live Christmas Tree recycling this year, but other locations in the county are accepting them.
In Edinburgh, Franklin, Greenwood, New Whiteland, and Whiteland, trees will be picked up curbside on regular tree limb pick-up days. For residents who do not receive limb pick-up services, McCarty Mulch and Stone in Greenwood is available to recycle your tree.
Trees must have all tinsel, lights, ornaments, and other Christmas decorations removed before they are recycled.
The Edinburgh Recycling Depot reminds residents that it is now at the Edinburgh Transfer Station, 701 West River Rd. New drop-off hours are Tuesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 to 11 a.m.
The Johnson County Recycling District in Franklin is currently closed due to staff shortages related to COVID-19. The center plans to reopen on January 4, 2022.
