COLUMBUS, Ind. – A Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) deputy conducted a traffic stop in the area of Eighth Street and Central Avenue, just after midnight Tuesday morning. The operator of the vehicle, identified as Jason Austin, 36, of Scipio, was found not to have a valid Indiana driver’s license.
When the Columbus Police Department (CPD) arrived to assist, CPD K9 Argo supposedly alerted to narcotics in the car. In addition to illegal drugs and drug-related items, a rifle and a handgun were also allegedly found inside.
BCSO arrested Austin and escorted him to Bartholomew County Jail. He was booked for possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a legend drug, possession of a syringe or needle, and driving while suspended – prior.
