COLUMBUS, Ind. – After being served a warrant, a local man has been arrested for trying to escape law enforcement on foot, according to the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO).
On Sunday afternoon, deputies went to the 4300 block of W. County Road 500S in an attempt to serve a warrant for dealing in methamphetamine on Sean Cobb, 42,
The suspect was seen walking outside near a garage and parked RV. An officer gave Cobb a verbal command to stop, however, he allegedly began running into a corn field initiating a foot pursuit.
The man continued to flee until finally being taken into custody, per BCSO. During a search of Cobb’s person, suspected narcotics were supposedly located.
Because of recent drug use, Cobb was taken to Columbus Regional Health for medical clearance and then remanded into jail. He was preliminarily charged with resisting law enforcement, an additional narcotics offense, and the outstanding warrants.
