COLUMBUS, Ind. – Bartholomew County Emergency Management (BCEM) has given an update on the weather outlook as we head into the weekend.
South central Indiana is under an Enhanced Risk of Severe Weather and the brunt of the storms is expected to come after 9 p.m. Additionally, a Wind Advisory is in effect from 8 p.m. tonight until 6 p.m. Saturday with gusts near 50 mph possible, per the National Weather Service (NWS)
Severe thunderstorms along a line with damaging winds are the primary threat and isolated tornadoes and large hail are also possible. The main threat of the storms will be from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., and the timing for Bartholomew County appears most likely to occur between 10 p.m. and midnight, according to BCEM.
