GREENWOOD, Ind. –The City of Greenwood has announced all of its events taking place this fall. The cadence of festivities will begin in early September and extend through October, ending with fan favorites like Monster Mash and the annual Halloween Parade.
As the Freedom Springs Aquatics Park closes out the public season this Labor Day, the Greenwood Parks and Recreation Department will host Puppy POOLooza on Saturday, September 9. This free event provides four-legged friends with a special way to enjoy the end of the summer season. All sessions will max out at 75 dogs. Another free program includes Movies at the Park. These family-friendly movies will begin when the sun sets at Old City Park. On September 8, enjoy “Lightyear” and on September 29, “The Super Mario Brothers Movie” will be shown.
This year marks the second Community Campout event at Freedom Park on Saturday, September 16. Attendees can pitch a tent, participate in games, gather around a bonfire, and enjoy other family activities. Tickets to reserve your campsite are now available for purchase.
Greenwood Parks and Recreation continues the free Fall Concert Series at the Greenwood Amphitheater. Concerts are at 6 p.m., on consecutive Saturdays from September 23-October 14.
Trick-or-treaters will be encouraged to attend Monster Mash On Friday, October 20, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Craig Park. It features a variety of Halloween celebrations for the whole family, including a hayride, trick or treating, food, music, and much more. VIP tickets for early access and extra benefits go on sale Friday, Sept. 1 at 8 a.m.
The 4th annual Halloween Parade is Saturday, Oct. 28, at 5 p.m. Greenwood residents and visitors can line the streets along the parade route through downtown Greenwood. Local businesses can register to be part of the parade by going here.
