COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC) has announced that 11 of its schools have been honored with the Purple Star designation by the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE).
The Purple Star designation, the largest group awarded since its inception in 2020, is given to schools that demonstrate a significant commitment to service members, veterans, and their families. This year’s designation includes 102 schools, with BCSC contributing 11 to this prestigious list.
To achieve the Purple Star designation, schools must have a dedicated point of contact for military families, host annual military programs, maintain a public military display, and ensure job interview opportunities for military service members and their families.
The 11 BCSC schools honored with this designation are:
- Clifty Creek Elementary
- CSA Fodrea
- CSA Lincoln Elementary School
- L France Smith Elementary School
- L Schmitt Elementary School
- Mt. Healthy Elementary School
- Parkside Elementary School
- Rockcreek Elementary School
- Southside Elementary School
- Taylorsville Elementary School
- W.D. Richards Elementary School
“The Purple Star designation is a reflection of our commitment to the military-connected students and their families in our community,” said BCSC Superintendent Dr. Jim Roberts. “We are dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive educational environment for all our students, and this recognition reaffirms our efforts.”
