GREENWOOD, Ind. – Valle Vista Health System in Greenwood recently promoted long-time employee, Kristen Primeau, LCSW, to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) position. In this role, Primeau provides operational and clinical oversight for the facility’s inpatient and outpatient programs.
In 2013, Primeau began at Valle Vista as an outpatient clinician and transitioned into other roles of increasing responsibility, including program director for youth services, assistant administrator, and executive director of subacute services. Under her leadership, the outpatient initiative added two opioid treatment programs, including an off-campus location, offering opioid treatment to meet the community’s need for these services.
A graduate of Butler University and Indiana University at Indianapolis, Primeau is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) who has a passion for helping underserved and vulnerable populations. “I am proud to lead this organization that meets patients and families on one of their worst days. It is humbling to be a part of the change in their lives. Our team is passionate about helping others.”
Primeau is responsible for nearly 300 employees. The Valle Vista campus offers adult inpatient acute care for mental health and substance use disorder, youth and adolescent services, adolescent girls’ residential care, partial hospitalization program, intensive outpatient program, medication management, and opioid treatment program. Valle Vista has been a part of the Greenwood community for over 40 years.
Primeau and her wife make their home in Franklin.
