COLUMBUS, Ind. – Bartholomew County Assessor Ginny Whipple was recently elected District Vice President of the Association of Indiana Counties’ (AIC) Southeast District during the annual meeting in Jefferson County.
“I’m very honored to serve the Association in promoting county government and look forward to meeting new people,” said Whipple.
As District Vice President, she represents the elected county officials in the Southeast District of the state, which includes Bartholomew, Brown, Clark, Dearborn, Decatur, Floyd, Harrison, Jackson, Jefferson, Jennings, Ohio, Ripley, Scott, Switzerland, and Washington Counties. There are six districts in the state.
Whipple serves on the AIC’s Board of Directors, which determines policies and legislative goals for the Association of Indiana Counties, Inc., a nonprofit organization established in 1957 for the betterment of county government.
The various functions of the AIC include lobbying the Indiana General Assembly on behalf of counties and providing technical assistance and training to county officials and employees.
