SEYMOUR, Ind. – The Jackson County Visitors Center reminds residents that the 22nd annual Great U.S. 50 Yard Sale is set for this weekend, May 21 through May 23.
Organized in 2000, the Great U.S. 50 Yard Sale is a coast-to-coast event. In Jackson County, sales will run from the Jennings/Jackson County line to the Jackson/Lawrence County line and include Seymour and Brownstown.
There is no central registration, people just set up yard sales along U.S. 50, coordinator Tom Taylor said. Vendors can’t set up on private land without permission or on state right-of-way. Vendors also are asked to be aware of the safety needed for pulling off and on the road.
Jackson County Sheriff Rick Meyer reminds residents to approach sales with safety and to keep in mind that traffic may be congested along the roadway. “We encourage people to safely enjoy the yard sales this weekend by paying extra attention to congested areas,” he said.
