COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Mill Race Marathon is hosting a 17-week training program to help beginners prepare for this year’s big race on September 28. The training plan helps ensure a steady build-up of mileage and provides safe running tips to help program participants achieve their goal of completing the race.
The program combines training classes and running practices and is customized for the marathon, half-marathon, and 5K races.
Training classes will provide participants with running tips, information for the most suitable running shoes and attire, nutrition topics, and advice to prevent injuries. Running practices will help participants build a strong base and develop running strength and stamina. Practices include long runs, steady pace runs, speed and interval practices, and tempo runs.
