COLUMBUS, Ind. - UPDATE: The gas leak has been resolved. As of 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, BCSO said that those living in the evacuated area can return home.
Original story: The Bartholomew County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) is evacuating residents due to a large gas leak in the area of the intersection of W. County Road 170S and Whitehorse Rd on Tuesday night, January 27.
An evacuation area of one-half mile to the north and south of that intersection is currently underway. Individuals to the east and west of C.R. 170S and Whitehorse Road do not need to evacuate.
If you live within that area, please evacuate your residence. If you are unable to exit due to road conditions/transportation issues, call 911.
