COLUMBUS, Ind. - The Columbus Fire Department (CFD) and Versiti Blood Center of Indiana presented a $590 check to Sans Souci on Thursday, January 15.
The money was raised during the December "Battle of the Badges Blood Drive." The event was celebrated on Thursday for its impact on community teamwork.
The "Battle of the Badges" featured CFD, the Columbus Police Department, Bartholomew County Emergency Management, the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Office, CRH EMS, and Bartholomew County EOS. The competition raised money for the local non-profit at NexusPark.
The Columbus Fire Department was declared the winner for earning the most votes and donating the most blood.
A CFD spokesperson said, "We are grateful to Versiti Blood Center of Indiana for the opportunity to support our partner agency, Sans Souci, during December’s Battle of the Badges Blood Drive. We also thank all 58 donors who came out and supported the cause and voted for their agency of choice."
