COLUMBUS, Ind. - The Columbus City Council passed an ordinance allowing Golf Carts and Utility Task Vehicles on roads at Tuesday evening's meeting.
Golf Carts and UTVs will be permitted on the roadways within the City of Columbus only when they meet the conditions outlined in the ordinance.
The enactment does not permit the operation of ATVs, dirt bikes, go-karts, or off-road vehicles on the roads.

The Columbus Police Department says the ordinance takes effect on June 1.
