City of Columbus receives 3 RFQs for 'Finish Fourth' redevelopment

COLUMBUS, Ind. - The City of Columbus has received three responses from development firms to its Request for Qualifications (RFQ) seeking a lead development partner for the Downtown 2030 Finish Fourth District. 

The firms, 1820 Ventures, Flaherty and Collins, and Build BW and Browning Day, emphasized experience in adaptive reuse, construction management, and financing.   

The city is seeking a single development partner for the first time, shifting from a site-by-site model to a districtwide approach.   

Proposals treated Finish Fourth as a unified campus, but allowed each site to be developed independently.   

“By choosing a lead development partner, we’re laying the groundwork for a downtown district that will remain vibrant, walkable and economically resilient for decades,” Columbus Mayor Mary Ferdon said. “Finish Fourth will be a catalyst for growth. I am grateful for our Columbus Downtown 2030 team; they have put in thousands of hours over the course of the past two years.”   

The firms also cited Columbus’ architectural heritage and their experience with public-private partnerships.
