HOPE, Ind. - The Town of Hope welcomes residents and visitors to its annual Groundhog Day event this Monday, February 2, starting at 8 a.m., on the Hope Town Square. "Hope" the groundhog makes her appearance at 8:30.
This special morning, where Bartholomew County residents learn if the groundhog sees its shadow, combines history, theater, nature, and family fun.
All are welcome to meet “Hope” from Utopia Wildlife Rehabilitators and find out if she sees her shadow and if south-central Indiana has six more weeks of winter.
The party features music, hot drinks, snacks, singing, and opportunities for live streaming and selfies with “Hope" after the reveal. The refreshments are provided by Willow LeaVes of Hope. A limited breakfast menu will be available for purchase.
Hope has never canceled its Groundhog Day celebration. According to the weatherman, there is a chance of snow. But organizers say the event will be held whether it is sunny, rainy, snowy, or bitterly cold.
