INDOT bridge deck project on North US 31 in Columbus starts Monday

COLUMBUS, Ind. - Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) contractor E&B Paving, Inc., is scheduled to begin a bridge deck overlay project on U.S. 31 between Lowell Road and Commerce Drive on or after Monday, April 6.

It is expected to be complete in late July, weather permitting. This work is part of a contract awarded in October 2025.

During the project, the construction speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph, and 10-foot lane width restrictions will be in effect Fridays through Mondays.  

INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. Construction schedules are subject to change.
