COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus Parks and Recreation has temporarily closed Mill Race Park after significant rainfall caused flooding throughout low‐lying areas of the park on May 20.
Residents are urged to avoid all flooded areas, including park roads, trails, and green spaces.
Floodwater can conceal debris, unstable ground, and swift currents, creating hazardous conditions even when water appears shallow. Other parks are being monitored. The park will reopen once water levels recede and staff confirm conditions are safe for public use. Updates will be provided as conditions change.
