SEYMOUR/COLUMBUS, Ind. - NAMI Southcentral Indiana presents a new community workshop, "Ripples of Hope: A Family Perspective." The sessions, on Tuesday, October 27, aim to foster connection and support for those navigating mental illness.
The event will take place in Seymour and Columbus and will feature Leslie Carpenter, Legislative Advocacy Manager for the Treatment Advocacy Center. She will share insights from both her professional background and her personal experience with a loved one living with serious mental illness, emphasizing the vital role of family and community support.
After the presentation, attendees will participate in a Guided Application session. This interactive portion focuses on translating inspiration into action, exploring practical strategies to improve access to care and strengthen local partnerships.
There are two Ripples of Hope workshops on October 27:
- Columbus - Columbus Learning Center, 4555 Central Ave., from 9 to 11 a.m.
- Seymour - Community Foundation for Jackson County, 107 Community Dr., from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Organizers encourage a diverse range of participants, including healthcare providers, educators, first responders, and neighbors, to collaborate on building a more resilient, connected community.
The workshop serves as a "call to action" to reduce isolation and ensure that every individual has the opportunity to thrive.
