Tuesday afternoon crash at C.R. 325W and Lowell Road results in fatality; 3 others injured

COLUMBUS, Ind. - One person is dead, and three others were injured in a single-vehicle accident on Tuesday. The Bartholomew County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) responded to a report of a crash near the intersection of N. County Road 325W and Lowell Road at around 2:30 p.m.

Two occupants were transported to hospitals in the Indianapolis area by ambulance. Another occupant, who was entrapped inside the vehicle, had to be extracted and then flown via Lifeline to an Indianapolis hospital.

The fourth occupant, a 19-year-old male, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Bartholomew County Coroner's Office has not yet released the name of the victim.   

BCSO says the accident reconstruction team was called to the scene to investigate the cause and manner of the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
