EDINBURGH, Ind. - Edinburgh Municipal Utilities starts flushing water mains this Sunday, May 10, at 7:30 a.m., and it will continue the process through May 19.
Customers may experience some discoloration in their water during this operation. If this occurs at your residence or business, you should run a slow stream of cold water until the discoloration disappears. Usually, five to ten minutes eliminates the problem.
If the discoloration persists, contact the Edinburgh Utility Office at 812-526-3514 and choose option 5.
Officials strongly suggest that white clothing not be washed during the daytime hours to help reduce the risk of staining. Some other light colors could also be affected.
To be safe, these colors should be washed after 7 p.m. until the flushing program is completed.
