GREENWOOD, Ind. - The Greenwood Police Department (GPD) was called to 966 Bent Branch Circle after a report of a person shot just after 11:30 p.m. on Saturday. Upon arrival, officers located several adult males suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
One of the victims, a 38-year-old man, was transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. At the scene, a 37-year-old man was pronounced deceased, and yet another male victim was transported to Eskanazi Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
A little later, GPD responded to St. Francis Hospital about a person in the emergency room who had suffered a gunshot wound. Officers spoke to a 23-year-old man who stated that he was shot at the Bent Branch Circle location and had a friend bring him to the hospital.
This case is ongoing and fluid, but at this point, the investigation has determined that a large birthday celebration was being held at the residence. At some point during the party, it is reported that two men got into an argument. They each allegedly then pulled out handguns and started shooting.
The names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
