FRANKLIN, Ind. - Arête Purpose, in downtown Franklin, is launching this month ChronicTalk - an online community for people dealing with the emotional trauma of chronic illness.
More than 60% of Americans suffer from chronic illness, yet few programs focus on the patients’ emotional needs.
The subscription-based community includes monthly online group discussions, social media connections, videos, podcasts, and other informational resources. Topics will focus on the emotions and daily living challenges related to having a physical chronic disease or condition.
Facilitators are Elizabeth Johnson, LMFT, LCSW - a long-time Johnson County family therapist from Greenwood - and Maria Gray-Gerhart, PhD, of Franklin - a former Johnson County teacher and school administrator.
Both women are published authors and digital content creators about chronic illness.
