BARGERSVILLE, Ind. - The Bargersville Fire Department (BFD) welcomes another member of the 2026 recruit class, Mitchel Tuttle, to the team.
Tuttle, 35, is a Decatur County native, where he graduated from Greensburg High School. He also attended Anderson University.
Before joining BFD, the new firefighter served as a police officer for eight years and then transitioned to the Columbus Fire Department, where he gained over three years of fire and EMS experience.
Tuttle said he chose the fire service because he wants to be a steady and calming presence for people on some of the worst days of their lives—someone others can rely on to bring reassurance, help, and control when it’s needed most.
