Governor Braun appoints Columbus Mayor Ferdon to Workforce Development Board

INDIANAPOLIS - Indiana Governor Mike Braun appointed Columbus Mayor Mary Ferdon to the statewide Workforce Development Board as part of 99 new appointments to various state boards and commissions in March.

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development is the central office in Indianapolis and 12 local workforce development areas (LWDA) that cover the state of Indiana.

Each LWDA is led by a staff executive and other key staff positions, with the number varying across the state, and is governed by an appointed volunteer chair and other volunteer Workforce Development Board members consisting of business, education, labor, community, faith-based, and economic development leaders responsible for the strategic vision of workforce development and governance.

Mayor Ferdon's term expires on March 31, 2029.
