FRANKLIN, Ind. - Habitat for Humanity Johnson County board members met last week with Mayor Steve Barnett, City of Franklin officials, Storm Warrior Roofing, Family Services, Mount Auburn Church, volunteers, and supporters to celebrate with Kelly on her future Habitat home in Franklin.
It was a major milestone for Kelly as she officially accepted the lot in Franklin, thanks to the Franklin Development Corporation-FDC of Indiana.
For the past two years, Kelly has been preparing for homeownership through Habitat's program – attending financial literacy classes, meeting with financial coaches, volunteering in the community, and completing sweat equity hours, all while working full-time and raising her family.
Behind every Habitat home is a family that has invested countless hours preparing for this opportunity and a community that has come alongside them every step of the way.
This fall, construction will begin on Kelly's home. It's the 27th for Habitat for Humanity Johnson County.
