BARGERSVILLE, Ind. - The Bargersville Fire Department was dispatched to the 4600 block of Shelby Circle just after 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, after 9-1-1 callers reported flames visible from the roof of a residence.
First-arriving companies found a two-story home with heavy fire showing from the roof. Crews initiated an aggressive fire attack and brought the blaze under control before it could extend further into the structure.
The fire was determined to have been caused by a lightning strike during storms that moved through the area Wednesday evening.
The attic sustained significant fire damage, while smoke and water damage affected other portions of the home.
No injuries were reported. The family was displaced and is currently staying with relatives.
