North Vernon approves fall events, Main Street funding

NORTH VERNON, Ind. - Community events and downtown revitalization projects received board approval at the North Vernon Board of Public Works and Safety meeting on Thursday, September 24.

The board unanimously approved two local stage rental requests. The first approval grants a stage rental for an upcoming event organized by the First Apostolic Church. The second approval grants the stage rental for the city’s annual Hometown Harvest event, which is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, at Tripton Park.

Both applications received clearance from the city street department before the vote.

In addition to event approvals, the board voted 3-0 to approve a $15,400 architectural services claim associated with the Preserving Main Street downtown development program.

In other city updates, board members noted that security camera installations at municipal facilities were completed, and construction at the local Wall property is scheduled to begin on October 19.
