PATRIOT, Ind. - Just before 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, the Indiana State Police (ISP)-Versailles Post and other law enforcement officers responded to a home in the 11000 Block of Bryants Creek Road in rural Switzerland County, after receiving reports of a person being shot.
Upon arrival, troopers found a 48-year-old male deceased with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Switzerland County Coroner’s Office.
ISP detectives were called in to lead the investigation. Indiana State Police Crime Scene Investigators responded to collect and document the evidence.
So far, no arrests have been made related to the shooting, as this is an ongoing investigation with an autopsy to be conducted. The situation is believed to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the public.
