COLUMBUS, Ind. - The City of Columbus Public Works and Safety Department (DPW) has announced that all trash and recycling collections will be delayed one day the week of January 26. There will be no pick-ups on Monday, January 26.
In response to this weekend's forecasted winter storm, Columbus will be delaying all sanitation collections by one day.
This change will allow city crews to focus on ensuring road safety, prioritizing plowing, and road treatment. All available DPW drivers will be used to plow and keep up with road maintenance efforts.
With the one-day delay, Monday routes will be run on Tuesday, Tuesday routes on Wednesday, and so on. Friday collections will be picked up on Saturday, 1/31.
DPW officials said, "We appreciate your patience and understanding as we prioritize safety above all else during this severe weather."
