Approach closure planned for U.S. 31/Lemley Street in Johnson County

JOHNSON COUNTY Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces an approach closure for U.S. 31/Lemley Street in Johnson County.

Beginning on or around Monday, July 20, crews will close the east side approach to U.S. 31 from Lemley Street in Franklin. This closure will allow for the installation of new drainage under the approach. Work is expected to take two days to complete, depending on the weather.

This work is part of a $66.2 million intersection improvement contract awarded to Milestone in February 2025. Overall contract work is anticipated to be complete in 2028. Additional information about the overall project can be found on the INDOT Southeast webpage.

INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
