VERNON, Ind. - Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) contractor 5 Star Company Inc. is scheduled to close a portion of State Road 7 between Vernon and Dupont on or after Friday, May 1, to complete a box culvert replacement project.
The closure will take place just north of the Muscatatuck River, between County Roads 300S and 500S. That section of S.R. 7 is expected to reopen in early June, weather permitting.
During the closure, motorists should use the official detour route, which follows S.R. 3 to S.R. 256 to S.R. 56/62, and then back to S.R. 7.
INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work schedules are subject to change.
