North Vernon man arrested for OVI, speeding

NORTH VERNON, Ind. - The North Vernon Police Department (NVPD) arrested a North Vernon man for driving while intoxicated on Sunday, April 19.

Officers with the North Vernon Police Department conducted a traffic stop on State Road 7 for a speeding violation. During the stop, the driver, identified as Allen R. Martin (44) of North Vernon, was found to be impaired.

A subsequent breath test indicated a blood alcohol concentration of 0.200%, more than twice the legal limit.

Martin was taken into custody and is being recommended for charges of:

  • Operating While Intoxicated – Endangerment

  • Operating While Intoxicated with a BAC of 0.15 or Greater
